Senior Citizens Club

The Owslebury Senior Citizen Club was set up in 2008 with the help of Age UK. It’s purpose is to provide support and friendship for our seniors particularly because we live in a rural village with infrequent transport. Age Concern mid Hants took over the support until 2018 and since then we are supported by Winchester Well-Being. This was set up by St. Barnabas Church Winchester and the Winchester Baptists who support seniors in Winchester and Owslebury with luncheon clubs and minibus outings. Owslebury has monthly outings on the third Friday of every month with an 11 seater minibus and volunteer drivers.

Outings may include the Otterbourne Pantomime in January, markets, shopping trips, museums, gardens, New Forest and summer seaside trips. Each outing costs £10 per person and are subsidised by donations and fund raising events. The club is now fully independent holding it’s AGM in June.

We are very grateful to OMCA for a donation of £250 in 2019. The club raised £110 in 2019. The club has also organised table top sales, cream teas, plant sales  and coffee mornings.
