I am greatly indebted to Mr G Pierce who gave me so much help, and information, when I approached him for assistance with the school project in the 1980’s.
George – one of three sons born here, to our famed Headmaster, wrote a number of articles on his childhood days, many of which he gave to me.
Some of this has already appeared in ‘Owslebury 150 Years A Village School’ and ‘Owslebury Remembers’ (both out of print) but here, it is more detailed.
I owe a great deal to those who have given me their time over the years – without whom what you read here would not have been possible. May you enjoy them – as I have!
