Stagecoach are making minor changes to a number of services in the Winchester area from the start of the new academic year, to accommodate the anticipated needs of students attending various local schools and colleges.
These changes are summarised below.
Changes to journeys operated under contract to Hampshire County Council
• Service 4 & 63 - The morning 63 buses at 0738 from Winchester and 0755 from Owslebury, will now run up to 13 minutes earlier. At Winchester the 63 bus will continue as a 4 bus to Teg Down, providing through travel from the 63 route to Westgate School.
Commercial changes made by Stagecoach
• Service 2 - 0718 journey from Olivers Battery will run 5 minutes earlier.
• Service 7 - Journeys for Westgate School will now run via Bereweeke Road & Bereweeke Avenue instead of Dean Lane Corner, allowing all stops in Bereweeke Avenue to be served and providing a nearer stop to Peter Symonds College. Slight changes in running time to Sparsholt College journeys. 1620 journey will be retimed to 1600.
• Services X24/26/X26 - An extra morning journey will run from Andover direct to Sparsholt College, all journeys will stop in Bridge Street in Andover. X24 journeys from Andover to Winchester Bus Station will drop of students at the Jolly Farmer.
• Services 66/66A/X66 - Will run to a simplified route and timetable, with a similar number of journeys to now but minor changes to the timings throughout the day. All standard journeys will be numbered 66, college journeys will be numbered 566.
• Services 76/86 (incorporating journeys previously numbered 586) - 0725 from Winchester to Worthy Down and 0758 from Bullington Cross to Winchester, will be retimed and extended to Whitchurch. Some morning journeys on 76/86 will run 5 minutes earlier. 1509 journey from Winchester will run via Stockbridge Road & Bereweeke Avenue on Schooldays (for Westgate School).
