Duties include the full range of parish clerk and RFO responsibilities including:
agenda preparation, minute-taking and associated actions; giving support and advice to council in areas such as planning, enforcement, highways, rights of way, contractor specifications, green keeping and play area management; coordinating information for the website; drafting policies in line with government legislation such as standing orders, financial regulations, safeguarding and risk assessments; financial management of the parish precept (£20k) including drafting and managing the annual budget, receipts and expenditure, VAT, salaries, records for audit; and being the focal point for all communications with the council.
The successful applicant will need to provide their own office space for which the council will pay an allowance. The council will provide computer / printer / photocopier.
Meetings: Every second Monday of the month at 7.45pm plus occasional sub-committee meetings.
Hours: 40 hours per month plus overtime up to an average of 55 hours per month.
Qualifications required: GCSE ‘O’ Level Maths and English grade C or equivalent. Plus a relevant sector qualification e.g. CiLCA or a willingness to work towards this.
Remuneration: LC1/2 – SCP 18 to 29 pro rata (£4,281 - £6,148 plus overtime) subject to relevant experience and qualifications.
